The Staff Accountant will be responsible for performing core accounting duties, supporting month-end close, and ensuring accurate financial reporting. This role requires strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to collaborate cross-functionally. Experience in the healthcare industry is highly preferred.
Prepare and post journal entries; maintain accuracy of the general ledger.
Assist with month-end and year-end close processes, including account reconciliations and variance analysis.
Reconcile bank accounts, credit cards, prepaid accounts, fixed assets, and other balance sheet accounts.
Support accounts payable and accounts receivable functions as needed.
Review and analyze expense reports, vendor invoices, and supporting documentation.
Assist in preparing financial statements, schedules, and reports for internal leadership and external auditors.
Maintain compliance with healthcare regulatory requirements and internal controls.
Support budgeting and forecasting processes with data entry and analysis.
Collaborate with clinical and administrative departments to ensure accurate financial information.
Participate in process improvements to increase efficiency and automation.
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
2-4 years of accounting experience; healthcare experience strongly preferred.
Solid understanding of GAAP and general accounting principles.
Proficiency with Excel (VLOOKUP, pivot tables) required.
Experience with ERP or accounting systems (NetSuite, Sage Intacct, or similar).
Strong attention to detail, accuracy, and organizational skills.
Ability to work independently in a hybrid environment and meet deadlines.
Excellent communication skills and the ability to partner across departments.
Prior experience in a healthcare, medical group, hospital, or multisite environment.
Experience with financial audits, grant reporting, or revenue cycle processes.
Knowledge of HIPAA compliance and healthcare billing terminology.
